July 14th, 2007 - A week of blessings
Praise the Lord! This past week was a tremendous blessing to everyone who took part. Starting with VBS on Monday and ending with Youth Night on Friday, the Lord, through the ministry of Chester Baptist Church, did a great work in hearts and lives.
On Friday evening we hosted our first “Youth Night,” and had a total of 17 teenagers come out! Special thanks to the youth from Mt. View Baptist for their willingness to come and help with this special event! Our efforts to reach the children and teenagers in and around Chester is slowly beginning to bear fruit, and we thank the Lord for allowing us the opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission here in the forgotten hill towns of western Massachusetts.
We are praying that those to whom we have had the opportunity to minister will open up their hearts to Christ and take full advantage of the privilege of serving Him at Chester Baptist Church. We thank everyone for their faithful prayers and support over this past week. God has been good to us, and we give Him all the praise and glory!
July 12th, 2007 - VBS, Final Day
Our final day proved to be a very special day for everyone! Today we had three first time visitors, bringing the grand total to 19 registered for the week. The children have been very attentive to the lessons, and many asked questions today regarding God and His great salvation. During the parents meeting this evening, we were able to spend additional time with one family in particular who is warming up to us. Praise the Lord for the great week so far. Please pray that our youth night on Friday evening will reach many souls for His Glory.
July 10th, 2007 - VBS Day 2
Today was a busy day with temperatures in the upper 90’s, but God gave us a great day with everyone coming back for VBS from the previous day! The ladies from Crown, led by Bro. and Mrs. Bob Crichton helped tremendously, and the children are participating well with each of the activities. We had a number of children indicate their uncertainty of salvation, and we are praying that God will speak to them through the Bible lessons on Joshua.
This evening’s service with the ladies ensemble was such a blessing. We had 4 first time visitors from Chester, and the music and preaching was so encouraging. As we said goodbye to the group tonight, it was hard to let them go. Each one of the ladies has such a servant’s heart, and Bro. and Mrs. Crichton were a great blessing to all of us. Please continue to pray for strength and wisdom throughout the rest of the week.
July 9th, 2007 - VBS 2007, Day 1
Praise the Lord for a great start to our second annual Vacation Bible School! Today we had a total of 16 registered children, and everyone seemed to enjoy the activities and Bible lesson. Many children returned from last year, and several came for the first time. Our theme this year is “Adventure Week,” and the BIble lessons are taken from the Book of Joshua. Please continue to pray for a harvest of souls this week for the glory of God.
